New qualifications

Are you a Grade 2 Disability Sports Coach or a Level 2 or above Fitness Instructor? We are currently finalising a proposal for a new group of national fitness qualifications specifically created for the wheelchair client.

Most qualifications within the industry allow for ‘adaptation’ should a wheelchair user take part in a class – the new qualifications will provide in depth approved exercises on an equal level to those currently offered to able bodied people. These will be designed to meet the physical demands/needs of a wheelchair user in both daily life and physical pursuits. We are also proposing that a Grade 2 disability sports coach qualification be accepted as a pre-requisite for the qualifications allowing for a wider use of the qualification to achieve improved levels of fitness and agility outside of the Fitness Industry.

At this stage we need to demonstrate the interest in these new qualifications and ask for anyone that would be interested in these new courses, to register their interest and support by contacting us.

Please share this information with anyone you know that is either a disability sports coach or fitness instructor as the more people that express an interest we have, the stronger our case will be. The outcome of these qualifications will mean that all gyms, leisure facilities and freelance instructors will be able to freely offer wheelchair users the same level of choice and variety as is currently offered to able bodied clients.

Your support can change the future.
